Ballet classes are the core foundation at Illusion Dance Studios for all styles of dance. We focus on developing a solid ballet technique with emphasis on understanding correct body placement, proper use of turn out, coordination of the upper body (epaulement), and use of arms (port de bras). Class begins with work at the barre to build strength and coordination, followed by center exercises, culminating in a grand allegro combination or variation. Clear explanations of exercises and theory help students use the ballet vocabulary in a simple, practical way that leads to increased technical understanding, healthy physical development, and lifelong enjoyment.
Our dance studio designed this class as an introduction into the varying styles of dance (Ballet and Acro) and begins to build a foundation for more challenging classes. For ages 3-5
Jazz is a true American dance form that appeals to everyone because of its energy, variety, and vitality. Classes begin with a warm-up to develop strength, flexibility, correct alignment coordination and body isolations. Turns, leaps, and progressions are included (as appropriate and safe per level), and culminates in extended dance combinations. The goal at our dance studio is to develop dancers who are expressive, dynamic, musical and passionate.
World dance is a form of dance developed by a group of people that reflects the traditional life of a certain country or region. World dance is fun and exciting to learn as you experience a new culture. Our dance classes in Nampa will study many dances from around the world including culture and costumes. Some examples of dances will be Filipino, Hawaiian, Mexican, Samoan, English and Welch.
Hip-hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Our dance classes in Nampa will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style, personality, face animation, and expression to the movements. Hip-hop dance requires students to have the muscle control, strength and stamina to successfully perform moves. Therefore the class may include upper and lower body conditioning as well as a rigorous warm-up to help prepare students for more intense movements.
Our Acrobatic Arts program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. Simple, thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and somersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!
